A Journey of Flavors and Passion
Claude and Sharon Ako are the joint owners of Believers, a foodservice company grounded in their extensive experience and commitment to high-quality service. Claude, a culinary professional with 38 years in the field, trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. He started a successful catering company in Togo, then honed his skills across Europe in Germany, Italy, and Spain. He later moved to America, working under renowned chef Wolfgang Puck at Spago in Chicago before serving as the Executive Chef for Rome’s Joy Catering at the Parkway Ballroom for 16 years. Now, he brings his international expertise to his own business.
Sharon, who holds a psychology degree, graduated with honors from the Le Cordon Bleu Program at The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago. She spent 13 years at Inspiration Corporation, where she supported individuals affected by homelessness, helping them gain skills for success in culinary arts. She launched a catering service, assisted in developing two restaurants, and earned a foodservice sanitation instructor certification. Since 2015, Sharon has been fully dedicated to running Believers alongside Claude. Together, with a shared 60 years of experience, they aim to deliver exceptional service and make a positive impact through their business.
